We absolutely love living in the wilderness!! I am standing next to our garage door...trying not to scare the yearling away. We think it is so fun to have deer in our yard! We had several hunters stay in our cabins during elk and deer hunting season. Chuck was so intrigued with our deer that he would pray every morning that they would be protected from the hunters. The two yearlings pictured were born on our property a year ago last spring.
The autumn colors are so beautiful! We live on Clear Lake...it is a little piece of Heaven. We have a river running into our lake...my favorite place to pray is on a hill above the river where I can see both the lake and the river...sitting on My Stump.
Our first snow was the week before Thanksgiving...Chuck has his work cut out for him! It was a small miracle that we did not have snow before this, because Chuck had a lot of water testing to do on our new well out in the woods. We would not have been able to get the generator out of the woods if the weather had not cooperated. The first flakes literally began to fall at the end of Chuck's last test. The well work has been going on for the last four weeks.
At first the little blade on the tractor worked to plow the snow. Later we had to change up our strategy. Whenever Chuck has a breakdown, he prays until literally the thoughts come into his mind as to what he needs to do.
We are starting to feel in the holiday spirit! Thankfully I gathered all the pine cones I needed for a wreath, centerpiece, and window decor before the snow began to fly. One of our campers took some pictures of us overlooking the lake and one for our Christmas card.
